Beginning is my word of the week Twenty

Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘Beginning’ and you can read more about that below.

I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Beginning

Last week I chose the word final and it felt a bit drab as so few people joined in. But it wasn’t my final Word of the Week because this week I’m choosing beginning!

On Tuesday I took Star to the hospital to see a new consultant and I feel that her problems are finally being truly addressed. It’s taken a long time to get to this stage. But we found out that she does not have a disease which seemed like a blessing at the time, but of course, diseases can be treated. She does have some issues those and although it’s still not quite sure what is causing the issues the new consultant is starting at the beginning. I won’t go into too much detail. It’s not pleasant but in a few months time we’ll know if this works and if not then we will be moving on to the next stage. Each stage gets progressively worse, so my fingers are tightly crossed.

On Thursday it was a new beginning for me as I began learning how to do my own treatment of immunoglobulins at the hospital so that I can do this at home. It went really well and I won’t go into the gory details but I think I’m going to get the hang of this quickly, I have three more hospital visits booked to make sure I can do it alone at home.

My new medication is working a little better but my health has still been all over the place this past week. I am hoping things will begin to get easier now.

I’ve promised myself that because going to the hospital was the main reason I had for getting out of the house then I’d replace it with something else. Something nicer. So next month I’m joining a book club in a local cafe. I’ve always wanted to join a book club and never have, so this is a new beginning for me and I’m both excited and scared.
