My word this week is ‘Summer’ and you can read more about that below.

MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Summer
Has Summer Finally arrived? Err, maybe, maybe not, who knows. This time last year we were getting ready for our first holiday as a family without Graham. This year is a little different, but we do have plans for summer.
The weather has been really weird, there is definitely some warmth around, I’m so hot at night even when it rains. But, it always seems overcast or raining during the day with very few actually sunny days. I’m almost kind of glad I don’t have kids who are desperate to get out in the garden on the swings and trampoline. Or begging me to get the swimming pool out.
We do have some plans though. The Little Man is going out every Tuesday, and starting from next week I’m going to try taking the kids out in the car. Even if we don’t go far. Boo has been out with her friends this week, on the bus, and on Wednesday All three girls went shopping on the bus.
Tomorrow it’s Boo’s birthday, she will be seventeen this year. It’s crazy to think that just a year ago I was struggling with her Dad walking out on us and getting ready to go on holiday on the train while arranging a little house party for her and her friends. This year it will be just family, she’s already had her day out with her friends. We are going to have party food for dinner.
Then in a couple of weeks it will be the Little Man’s fourteenth birthday, followed by Star’s nineteenth. That’s what summer means to us….birthdays!

I wish happy birthdays for all your Summer babies. Life is full of changes, never stagnant. Hope some more lovely weather come around too, it’s full time for that.
You really are in birthday season. I have two summer babies and I’ve always thought its a nice time of year to celebrate. Hope Little Man enjoyed his birthday. The weather really is all over the place. I’ve given up guessing. What a difference a year makes. I hope you make it out in the car with the children and have lots of fun.

Lots of birthdays in your house over the summer! I hope Boo had a lovely birthday and enjoyed having party food. Summer means birthdays to us too with Thomas’s birthday the day before Boo’s and my husband’s birthday in August. #WotW
